Every child
deserves a
chance to thrive.
Save Our Souls Foundation nurtures and improves the quality of life for needy children across West Africa — providing healthcare, education, clean water, and emergency relief in honor of those we've lost to preventable diseases.
Founded in love,
driven by purpose.
Established in 2017 for the common good and hard at work in communities across the USA and Africa, Save Our Souls Foundation (SOS) was founded by Dr. & Mrs. Mary Mitchell to nurture and improve the quality of life of needy poor children.
They named the foundation in honor of children who are dying from preventable diseases — a solemn reminder that clean water, basic medicine, and a meal a day should never be out of reach.
What began as a single medical outreach in a rural Ghanaian village has grown into a movement spanning eight countries, with volunteers, healthcare workers, and educators walking alongside communities every single day.
We cannot save every child. But for the one we reach today, the entire world changes.
Vision, Mission & Values
The principles that shape every decision, every program, every life we touch.
Vision
To help needy poor children achieve their potentials in a safe, positive and nurturing environment — where every child is seen, heard, and given the chance to dream.
Mission
To deliver essential healthcare, education, clean water, and nutrition to vulnerable children across West Africa — working hand-in-hand with local communities to build lasting, sustainable change.
Values
- Compassion in every action
- Integrity & transparency
- Empowerment over pity
- Community-led solutions
Six pillars of lasting change.
Each program is designed with local leaders, run by local hands, and measured by the smiles of children whose futures are rewritten.
Mobile Medical Clinics
Bringing doctors, vaccines, and essential medicines to remote villages where the nearest hospital is hours away.
Schools & Scholarships
Building classrooms, training teachers, and sponsoring children who would otherwise never hold a pencil.
Wells & Filtration
Drilling boreholes and installing filtration systems so children drink without fear of disease.
Feeding Programs
Daily meals for malnourished children and nutritional training for mothers in rural communities.
Rapid Response Teams
First on the ground during floods, outbreaks, and displacement crises with food, shelter, and medicine.
Safe Homes & Mentoring
Creating family-style homes and pairing children with mentors who guide them into adulthood.
From the field, with love.
Real children, real communities, real change — captured by our volunteers across West Africa.
Stories that move us forward.
From donors to beneficiaries to volunteers — every voice matters in this chorus of hope.
I started giving $25 a month in 2019. Last summer I traveled to Ghana and met the children my donations were helping. I wept. This foundation does exactly what it promises — every single dollar shows up as a smile.
When my daughter Amara fell ill with malaria, the SOS clinic was the only medical help within 80 kilometers. They saved her life. Today she is nine, healthy, and wants to become a doctor herself.
I've volunteered with many NGOs. None operate with the transparency and humility of SOS. The Mitchells have built something rare — a charity that listens before it acts, and stays long after the cameras leave.
After my parents passed, SOS Foundation took me in, gave me a home, and put me through school. I am now studying nursing in Lagos. I exist because of them — and one day I will give back the same way.
Our company chose SOS as our annual charity partner because of their financial transparency. Every receipt, every report, every dollar — accounted for. They treat donor money like sacred trust. That's rare.
